Has our mission been a success? Of course!!
Maybe not as some people portrays success, but to us, success is knowing that many children have been rescued from bad and hard situations and given an opportunity to live a life in a safe, loving environment and grow as a child with all the potential to develop to a healthy young person.
Legacy as defined by many is “something transmitted from an ancestor”, most times related to money or personal property. The legacy to our children will be far more meaningful than that for it will be given to enjoy not just for their life time but for ETERNITY.
Our legacy is teaching them what Jesus says:
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal”. Mat. 6:19-20
That is our commitment for this New Year and the many more the Lord allows us to serve Him here; and like I have said before, we cannot do it by ourselves. We need you!! May this year 2012, be a prosperous year for you and your family.
"There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and needy in your land". Deuteronomy 15:11
"Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked".
Matamoros Children's Home is the largest Christian institution in northern Mexico. It provides a family to orphans, neglected, and abused children. Knowing the
importance of establishing the foundations of a child's personality in early childhood, the Home provides a stable and predictable environment in which healthy relationships among the children and staff are developed.
Responsibility is taught daily through our example of conduct and attitude. Attention to each child is given on a personal basis to get to know his/her aptitudes and encourage them to develop them in their lives: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when
he is old he will not turn from it". Proverbs 22:6
Affection is shown in all activities we do in a well balanced environment of love and discipline. It is our goal that every child that comes to Matamoros Children's Home, gets to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. When they leave the Home, they are well rounded physically, emotionally, spiritually, and they become successful citizens and strong Christian that can proclaim Jesus is Lord.
